¿To see, to watch o to look?
A menudo se usa con can o could: I can see the mountains from my bedroom. Puedo ver las montañas desde mi dormitorio.
To look at implica una acción deliberada: I saw an old atlas, so I opened it and looked at the maps.
I watched the planes in the sky with great interest. Igualmente puede indicar el paso del tiempo (we watched the animals playing for half an hour, durante media hora observamos cómo jugaban los animales), movimiento (they stood there watching the cars drive off into the distance, se quedaron allí de pie viendo cómo se marchaban los coches) o vigilancia (the policemen have been watching this house because they thought we were thieves, los policías estaban vigilando la casa porque pensaban que éramos ladrones).
Para hablar de películas u obras de teatro usamos to see: Have you seen Hamlet?, ¿Has visto Hamlet? To watch se refiere a la televisión y los deportes en general: I always watch the television in the evening. Siempre veo la televisión por las noches. I like to watch football. Me gusta ver el fútbol. Al hablar de programas o partidos específicos podemos usar tanto to watch como to see: I like to see/watch the news at 9:00. Me gusta ver las noticias a las 9.00. Did you see/watch the match last night?, ¿Viste el partido anoche?

3 frml (sentir agrado o afición) gustar de, to enjoy: gusta de salir a pasear por las mañanas, he likes to have a walk in the morning
II vtr (degustar, probar) to taste
Gustar se traduce por to like: Me gusta esta música. I like this music.
I like to go to the dentist twice a year. Sería muy difícil que alguien dijera I like going to the dentist, porque significaría que disfruta haciéndolo.
En el modo condicional ( I would like) sólo se puede usar el infinitivo: I would like to go out tonight. Me gustaría salir esta noche.

- as for me3) так, как•CHOICE OF WORDS:(1.) Indefinite: as/when/while I was walking down the street I noticed a car at the entrance to the theatre когда я шел по улице, я заметил машину у подъезда театра; (б) если оба действия длительны, придаточное времени вводится союзами when/while, а глаголы главного и придаточного предложений обычно употребляются в форме Continuous: when/while she was cooking lunch I was looking through the papers Indefinite: as I grow older I get less optimistic по мере того как я старею/расту, я теряю оптимизм; (в) если описаны два одновременных коротких действия, то придаточное времени вводится союзом as. Indefinite: he greeted everybody as he came in он вошел и поздоровался со всеми (когда он вошел, то...); I thought so as you started talking я так и подумал, когда вы начали выступать; I remembered her name as I left Like - предлог, образующий предложную группу с последующим существительным или местоимением: like me, she enjoys music как и я, она любит музыку; he cried like a child он плакал как ребенок. As - союз, вводящий придаточное предложение: she enjoys music just as I do. В разговорном языке like часто используется как союз вместо as: nobody understands him like (as) his mother does никто не понимает его так, как его мать. (3.) See after, cj; USAGE (1.). (4.) See until, cj -
